I’m getting over a bit of illness right now. I’m actually surprised I managed to stay on schedule with comic updates. Fingers crossed this leaves my system by tomorrow.
I’m not sure if there’s a lot of Petunia in me. I try to prevent my characters from becoming too much like anyone, especially myself. Still, I think it’s impossible not to add a little of yourself into your stories and characters.
When I outlined Petunia as a character a while ago some of her defining characteristics were: motivated, loyal, and serious. I guess I would also add romantic and damaged to that list now…
I really wonder how other people interpret these characters. I don’t think I’m really pushing a lot of their traits town your throat, am I? Someone told me once that they all seem pretty normal, despite the weird stuff going on. I suppose that’s good! I want them to be relatable, but I also don’t want them to be boring. Let me know if you have any feedback.
OH, and I really want to know what people think Petunia’s eye and hair colors are. I heard one interpretation and was very surprised. I guess that can happen when a comic is in black and white.
What, will you go unto the Tower, my lord?
My lord protector needs will have it so.
I shall not sleep in quiet at the Tower.
Why, what should you fear?
Marry, my uncle Clarence’ angry ghost:
My grandam told me he was murdered there.

You may have noticed that I messed with the design of the site over the weekend. I switched it to a three column layout with the comic smaller in the center. I liked it for a few days, thinking that the image would be clearer (unfortunately I have to dumb down the resolution for use on the web – the original scans are 10x as large). After the weekend I decided that I hated it and switched it back! I also added some new stuff to the sidebar, including an ad. The ad is there to hopefully generate a small amount of income that can use to promote the comic using my own ads! I’m not sure if you all care to hear about this stuff. It’s a process 😛
I’m back! Thanks for waiting for me. I took a much-needed vacation and got some warm weather. Luckily, we missed a week of below 0 temperatures. It’s warmed up quite a bit since then. Sorry to my friends who had to deal with the frigid weather. I really needed to get away and now I’m feeling a lot better and inspired. There are a ton of new Paranormal Petunia pages on the way, so stay tuned!
